Internships

Kombucha-T

January - May 2022

During my time in Seville, I had the amazing opportunity to intern for a local Kombucha start up company called Kombucha-T. Kombucha-T is run by a Sevillana woman, Rocio, and her American husband, Joesph, in a suburb of Seville. Because I was located in the center of the city and they lived outside of it, my internship was completely remote.

My role at Kombucha-T was to help raise awareness of the brand as the  marketing intern. My main responsibilities included helping to create educational posts about Kombucha, taking pictures and videos around the city for social media, and to try to find new clients. I also created a video to promote the new "Sevilla" flavor for Semana Santa. Below is a gallery of some of the content I took all around the city for social media.

Looking back now having completed this internship, I am so incredibly grateful for the experience. Although my bosses both spoke English, we only ever spoke Spanish to each other which drastically improved my skills. On a more technical note, I became very good at using the application Canva to create different types of content for social media. Overall, I can confidently say that this experience really expanded my knowledge in marketing and cultural differences in a work setting.

As apart of the LAIB curriculum, I had to write a report reflecting on my international internship experience in my target language. If you are interested in learning more about my experience with Kombucha-T, please click the button below to access my report.

During the Summer of 2022, I interned at an asset management firm in Boston, MA in the marketing department. Each intern at the firm was assigned a Capstone project where we were each to solve a problem or fulfill a need for their respective team. My assignment was to create a style guide for the whole firm to ensure that as the firm continues to expand internationally, all content produced would be consistent. At the end of the summer, I presented my style guide to the entire firm which was approximately 250 people.

Although the style guide took up the majority of my time, I also conducted competitor research for Polen's new video series they were looking to launch at the time. I participated in meetings where I shared my findings and suggestions with the marketing team and the production company.

This role taught me so much about the asset management industry, and even more specifically asset management marketing. I had the opportunity to speak to many people on different teams within the firm who gave me invaluable industry and career advice. Getting to work in a city like Boston at such an amazing firm was such an incredible experience and one that I am thankful to have had.
